Balleraena Dance Studio strives to provide high quality dance training to dancers of all ages in the Sioux Falls area. Dancers can enjoy dance on a continum of levels from recreational to advanced. Through a variety of dance forms, dancers exercise their minds and bodies via the art of dance. Balleraena Dance Studio aims to enrich dancers with the lifelong love of dance.
Our Instructors
Balleraena Dance Studio has highly trained instructors. Balleraena Dance studio currently hosts 7 dance instructors, all of whom have at least one educational degree in dance. Furthermore, most instructors have danced professionally in their careers. Instructors keep pace with the latest dance styles and techniques. Ms. Raena travels to New York at least 10 times per year to take class, including week long intensive dance instruction. Ms. Raena and other instructors have attended the PULSE Tour multiple times to study under Mia Michaels, Chris Judd, Wade Robson, Brian Freidman, Debbie Gibson and Dave Scott and many other great performers. In addition to the primary instructors, Balleraena Dance Studio has teaching assistants who help instruct the youngest dancers (ages 3-6 years) for individualized attention. Teaching assistants are selected based on their abilities to work with young children and their demonstrated proficiency in dance movements. The youngest dancers especially value the teaching assistants because they can see what they can “become” through practice at Balleraena Dance Studio.
Furthermore, Balleraena Dance Studio regularly schedules many guest dancers and choreographers such as Ms. Starr Danias (performed with ABT), Lisa Conlin (performs with the Minneapolis-based Ballet of the Dolls Dance Company) and Eric J. Campros (world renowned choreographer; danced with danced with Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Lil Kim, Usher and many other international performers). These masterful dancers come multiple times a year to enrich dancers with opportunities to learn multiple forms and the latest styles of dance.

Our Facility
In January 2010, Balleraena Dance Studio moved into a new facility. This facility has two spacious studios, both have sprung flooring systems and one has a Harlequin Marley covering.

Our History
Balleraena Dance Studio opened its doors in the fall of 2001 with one studio and one instructor. It now has expanded to two studios and 7 instructors! Balleraena now offers nearly 50 classes year round, plus solo and individual work. Balleraena Dance Studio added a dance company 5 years ago for advanced dancers ages 13-19 who audition to join. In addition to the annual recital, dancers have the opportunity to participate in a Christmas show, and dance in many venues around the city. The Balleraena Dance Company (BDC) has danced for First Night Sioux Falls, Festival of Trees, Chamber of Commerce meetings, and other community events. Notably, Balleraena Dance Studio performed with the Moscow Ballet in 2005. The Hip Hop Kids dance group has performed several seasons with the Sioux Falls Skyforce Dance Team.
