Ms. Stanfield's camp will include Contemporary, Lyrical, Technique and Jazz. Camp will be June 11, 12 and 13 (Tues-Thurs) from 6:00 - 8:00pm.

Description: Contemporary dance is an expressive communicator of the mind, body and spirit through movement. Contemporary dance founders originally composed dances to express the spirit, soul, and heart of social problems associated with the condition of the human spirit. In contrast, today's Contemparary dance has more sophisticated techniques and technologies applied to express a broader variety of social issues. Each style goes in unique directions and is usually a radical and interesting presentation. The essence of Contemporary dance is to look forward, not backward. Ballet and Contemporary are sometimes fused together, enriching both forms; however, neither is loses its identity in the process. Instructor: Tracie Stanfield

Tracie Stanfield is an internationally recognized choreographer, master teacher and creative consultant. Ms. Stanfield's work has been commissioned throughout the US and for companies in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Costa Rica, Canada and Turkey. Her signature voice as a choreographer has helped create and define contemporary lyrical movement in concert and commercial dance. Dance Magazine calls her classes "inspiring'” and the Huffington Post UK says Tracie "thrilled and mesmerized with her masterful fusion of contemporary and classical dance forms". Close to her NYC home, her work has been seen at Symphony Space, The Allen Room/Jazz at Lincoln Center, Dixon Place, SUNY Purchase, PACE University, The Lion Theatre, The Duke Theatre, Joyce SoHo and Untermyer Park in Yonkers. Tracie is the recipient of The Spirit of Elan Award for her work with SynthesisDANCE. As an educator, she has been regularly featured in Dance Spirit and Dance Teacher Magazine as well as working with dancers internationally. She is the Artistic Director of the Brooklyn Dance Festival and on the Advisory Board of Young Choreographers' Festival and various dance organizations that promote the future of dance for all audiences.

Tracie Stanfield is on faculty at Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Capezio Center and Fluid Dance Conventions. Recent teaching engagements include Artist-In-Residence at Academy of Holy Angels/Performing Arts Dept and Woodbridge Dance. Tracie has taught at The Rock School, Marymount Manhattan College, Joffrey Ballet’s Contemporary Intensive, Mesa State College, The Pulse on Tour, University of South Carolina, The Gold School, Tapestry Dance Company, Dance Masters of America, Dance Educators of America, NADAA, The Grier School, Bluegrass Stage Dance Festival, International Dance Festival NYC, and internationally at Teatro Danza (Argentina), KBroadway (Japan), BDC (Tokyo), DJazz (Mexico), Spirit Dance Company (Costa Rica), and Sureste Dance Festival (Mexico). She has also set works on students for Youth America Grande Prix, SUNY Purchase and Pace University.
